# The end of regular COVID food deliveries---a bittersweet moment :-)

Friends and neighbors,

As of May 1, 2026 our COVID food-delivery program is closed 🙂

For every 6 years we delivered meals and groceries to the East Bay, for years every single day of the year (freshly cooked meals), then transitioning to a weekly grocery program. At one time we were shipping 175,000 free meals per year and operating three commercial kitchens! We have delivered food nonstop since March 27, 2020—a week after the fateful COVID shelter-in-place order.

We are keeping our delivery capability in mothballs, and will reactivate it in case of natural disasters. We are now dealing with other important issues to Berkeley residents. Our primary focus is now wildfire, including mitigation and evacuation.
