Johnsoew driver

I can drive, any weekday and especially Fridays. Holidays great too. Used to drive with the SF/Marin Food Bank. Let me know when it’s needed.

Hi @Johnsoew, welcome to HelpBerkeley.org and thanks very much for volunteering! Your previous driving experience with the SF/Marin Food Bank makes you a really great asset.

Our dispatchers have made you a driver, so now you can access the driver-only subcategories (subcats) on the website.

The next driver training sessions, on Zoom, are listed on this thread: https://go.helpberkeley.org/t/new-driver-training-this-week/874. Can you reply to the thread and let us know which session you will attend?

However, since you indicated you are available for our Holiday runs we will be in touch soon with a shortened holiday event training which will be short and sweet!

Until then, here is a link to the core information required for drivers to ramp up:

(only clickable by drivers) . Let us know if you have any questions!

Thank you for again for volunteering your time with us, we’re glad to have you on board!

Hi, thanks! Looking through the materials, I see shifts are usually 5-6pm. I didn’t catch that before, and that will not work for me (kids, etc.). If holiday shifts are at a different time, I may still be able to help.

@Johnsoew , the regular material discusses mostly our daily restaurant runs for recently COVID-diagnosed etc. We have several runs during the day!

  • we have a big free meals run every Monday starting around 3:00pm, would that work?
  • Our smaller Tue morning run is typically around 9:30-10:00am

Also, all event runs will start early afternoon, typically between 1-2pm. Let us know what times during the day work for you!
