Okay @Suzy, I just made you a consumer in addition to being a dispatcher. You will still see the same categories, but now our system recognizes you as one.

Our restaurant partners are still learning the system. Please remind them to take your phone number when you call, if they don’t take it automatically.

@evyk, you already registered to request meals in registration: one of our dispatchers is promoting you to consumer as we communicate. You should receive a promotion message and a series of instructions soon.

Hi, I just registered and have my password but each time I click on orange ‘log in’ (on the Home page/instruction page) it takes me to the page with all the posts. Also my initial is in the upper right corner (in an orange circle). When I click on that, one of my choices is log out. So I’m logged in. But when I click on the ‘click here to find a restaurant’ it says I must be logged in to view it… And I don’t see a blue log in button.

Our dispatchers just made you a consumer on HelpBerkeley.org. This means that the system now recognizes you as a consumer, and you can now see consumer-only areas of the website. Before you were made a consumer, you could still not click on the restaurant list. But now you can!

  • If you order meals tomorrow before 5pm, you will receive them the next day in the evening.

  • important note: we use the phone number you give to the restaurant to find your address in our database, so please give the restaurants the number you gave us when you order (they will ask for name and phone number).

i’m wondering how i can see where to order from, etc. For some reason this doesn’t seem to be the easiest user intuitive method, but maybe i’m getting somewhere? I need to order meals.

Once you are logged into the system and promoted to a consumer, there are several ways to discover the system:

  • one is from our landing page where you arrived: helpberkeley.org. If you scroll down you will have an overview of the whole system.

  • one is from the welcome message you got. In there is a link to:

Hopefully, by the time you have had a chance to go through your welcome message it will become a lot more intuitive! Now that you are a consumer, you simply need to:

  • pick a restaurant from our restaurant’s list
  • call before 5:00pm, ask for HelpBerkeley rations, give them your name, phone number (the one you gave us: that is important), a credit card to pay $10 plus tax for two meals, and, tomorrow evening our volunteer drivers will bring us your order!
  • please be sure to read all the welcome message and its links!
