Pointers to your first meal order: please read!

Welcome to HelpBerkeley.org! We are here to help you get very affordable, delivered meals while you are in self-isolation, in quarantine or sick at home.

  • First, look at our list of restaurant partners (only accessible if you have already been promoted to consumer). With any one of them, you can order two meals (dinner + next day’s lunch) for $10 per day (plus tax), and have our site volunteers deliver these meals, every day, for free.

  • Once you have chosen where to order from, here are the instructions on how to order a meal

  • Once you have passed your first order, here are the instructions on how to receive a ration delivery

  • You never need to let us know that you need a delivery: the restaurant will tell us automatically, by giving us your name and phone number, that we will compare to our database to figure out your address. This means that you must give them the same name and phone number you gave us.

  • Please make sure you give the restaurant the name and phone number(s) you gave us at registration! It is totally OK to order for two (or more), but, if your partner might occasionally be ordering instead of you, please make sure they have their own registration with HelpBerkeley.org, so that we can find their name and phone number in the database.

I’m getting an error message when I try to access the restaurant list. Can you help?

Hi @smarrus ,

To access the restaurant list, you need to be a consumer. It looks like you didn’t sign up to be a consumer, so go ahead and post ‘I need meals’ in the “Request Meals” thread. ( https://go.helpberkeley.org/c/need-meals/6 ). Our dispatchers will promote you to a consumer (it may take a few hours) and you will be able to access the restaurant list. Let us know if you have any more questions!

HI @smarrus,
As an admin, I have made the changes to your account (i.e checked the box saying I need meals). I have also promoted you as a consumer and you should now have access to the list of restaurants.
