HelpBerkeley: COVID-19

Jeff Driver and dispatcher

Hi @Jeff , welcome to HelpBerkeley.org and thanks very much for volunteering!

Our dispatchers have made you a driver, so now you can access the driver-only subcategories (subcats) on the website.

Below is a link to a helpful post for new drivers to ramp up and learn more: please read all of its links carefully! If you have any questions, there are also FAQ’s in the driver subcats, or you can create a new post.
https://go.helpberkeley.org/t/new-driver-welcome-please-read-this/66 (only clickable by drivers)

The next step is to tell us when your schedule fits to drive, and how often you can drive.

The next driver training sessions, on Zoom, are listed on this thread: https://go.helpberkeley.org/t/new-driver-training-this-week/874. Can you reply to the thread and let us know which session you will attend?

Thank you for again for volunteering your time with us, we’re glad to have you on board!

Hi @Jeff , welcome and thanks so much for volunteering with HelpBerkeley.org! We would love to work with you.

Our dispatchers have made you a dispatcher, so now you can access dispatcher-only subcategories (subcats) on the website.

As a dispatcher you can pick one (or more) of these four areas:

  • inreach: call our existing members and help them understand how to use our service and our site
  • outreach: call and email other organizations to let people know about us who need us
  • workflow dispatch: prepare delivery runs for our drivers
  • customer care: respond to questions from new members on how to register and use the system

What would you like to do? Please let us know by replying to this!

The best way to familiarize yourself with HelpBerkeley.org is to read the New dispatcher welcome (only accessible by dispatchers). Create a new topic in the /Dispatch/Support category (found on the main page of the site) if you have any questions, and I or another staff member will explain anything!

Thank you for again for volunteering your time with us, we’re glad to have you on board!

@Jeff, thanks so being so prompt in scheduling a driver training session with us!

Do you have an idea of what dispatching area you are most interested in? Do you have special skills that we should take advantage of?

Hi @liannaleung and @KaelanTdT,
I think I would be most ready to help with workflow dispatch.
Regarding an special skills, I have done some work with google suite programming so maybe there is some way that would help make dispatchers more efficient while working with the spreadsheet that might help. I am not sure if this is really necessary or useful but please let me know if it is.
