HelpBerkeley: COVID-19

Rowangb driver and dispatcher

Hi @rowangb , welcome to HelpBerkeley.org and thanks very much for volunteering!

Our dispatchers have made you a driver, so now you can access the driver-only subcategories (subcats) on the website.

The next driver training sessions, on Zoom, are listed on this thread: https://go.helpberkeley.org/t/new-driver-training-this-week/874. Can you reply to the thread and let us know which session you will attend? The next sessions are Saturday at 11:00am and 2:00pm: let me know if you can make them!

Until then, here is a link to the core information required for drivers to ramp up:

Once you have had a chance to read it all, you can update your driving availability here:

If you have any questions, please post them on https://go.helpberkeley.org/c/drivers/driver-discussions/31

Thank you for again for volunteering your time with us, we’re glad to have you on board!

Hi @rowangb , thank for volunteering as a dispatcher as well! We would love to work with you.

Our dispatchers have made you a dispatcher, so now you can access dispatcher-only subcategories (subcats) on the website.

As a dispatcher you can pick one (or more) of these four areas:

  • inreach: call our existing members and help them understand how to use our service and our site
  • outreach: call and email other organizations to let people know about us who need us
  • workflow dispatch: prepare delivery runs for our drivers
  • customer care: respond to questions from new members on how to register and use the system

What would you like to do? Please let us know by replying to this!

The best way to familiarize yourself with HelpBerkeley.org is to read the New dispatcher welcome (only accessible by dispatchers). Create a new topic in the /Dispatch/Support category (found on the main page of the site) if you have any questions, and I or another staff member will explain anything!

Thank you for again for volunteering your time with us, we’re glad to have you on board!

Hi @rowangb: what area would you prefer in dispatching? If you have any special skills, we would love to know about them!

Please note that workflow dispatching is rather complex and technical
