Hi @paul-e, welcome to HelpBerkeley.org and thanks very much for volunteering!

Our dispatchers have made you a driver, so now you can access the driver-only subcategories (subcats) on the website.

The next driver training sessions, on Zoom, are listed on this thread: https://go.helpberkeley.org/t/new-driver-training-this-week/874. Can you reply to that thread with your preferred session, unless you talk directly to someone about your choice? There are training sessions today at 11:00am and 4:00pm, and possibly one at 8:00pm.

Below is a link to a helpful post for new drivers to ramp up and learn more: please read all of its links carefully! If you have any questions, there are also FAQ’s in the driver subcats, or you can create a new post.

The next step is to tell us when your schedule fits to drive, and how often you can drive. Can you fill this Google Sheet to indicate your availability: https://go.helpberkeley.org/t/how-you-can-structure-your-volunteer-hours-with-helpberkeley/73 ?

Thank you for again for volunteering your time with us, we’re glad to have you on board!

Hi @paul-e, thanks for volunteering as a dispatcher as well!. Our dispatchers have made you a dispatcher, and you can now access dispatcher areas on the website.

As a dispatcher you can pick one (or more) of these four areas:

  • inreach: call our existing members and help them understand how to use our service and our site
  • outreach: call and email other organizations to let people know about us who need us
  • workflow dispatch: prepare delivery runs for our drivers—a complex and technical task
  • customer care: respond to questions from new members on how to register and use the system

What would you like to do? Please let us know by replying to this!

The best way to familiarize yourself with HelpBerkeley.org is to read the New dispatcher welcome (only accessible by dispatchers). Ask if you have any questions!

@paul-e, there is no need to respond to this dispatcher post since we talked already!

I will tag you in the CustomerCare and the Driver Training threads!
