Hi could you pls tell me if I am registered as a consumer? I do not see where I can request a meal. All the links I click on mentioning that just take me to the request a meal faq site. I was wondering if that is because I am not registered as a consumer.
If I am registered as a consumer could you please tell me how I could sign up for a meal?

You were not registered as a consumer before, as dispatchers have to do that manually, but I just made you a consumer, i.e. you can now see the consumer-only areas of the site.
Here is a link for pointers on your first meal order, you’ll be given instructions as to how to order a meal.

If you have any questions, you can respond to this thread or make a post on /Support/Questions/, and either I or another dispatcher will help you.
Our restaurant partners are still learning the system. Please remind them to take your credit card information when you call, if they don’t take it automatically.
Please send us feedback so we can improve what we can. You can start a thread in the /I Need Meals/Feedback/ area (you can now see this area) and add a reply to your own thread for every detail that you see where there is a problem. Thanks very much!
@Margolena, to clarify, our dispatchers manually check every new registration to validate it, then upgrade the user to a consumer where she/he then has access to all the information that is needed to order.
When you register, if you check “I want to order meals” it raises a flag for dispatchers to check your registration data and make sure that it is possible for you to order (your address can be entered into Google maps, you live in an area where we deliver etc.).
Once you have been upgraded as a consumer, you now have access to the areas of the website that have all the information needed to order. You can find all of that information in the links your welcome message. If anything is unclear, by all means ask a question in the Support area, under Questions. Hope this makes sense!

Also I wanted to ask, I know the drivers are volunteers. Do they accept tips? Is it appropriate to tip them?

Margo, it is super nice to think of the drivers! They do not accept tips, but it still was a really nice thought. They just want to help their neighbors.
No worries about databases: we do not check against any city database, we just want to make sure that we will be able deliver to you with the information you gave us. FYI, I deleted your personal information from your post.
